George Kyprianou-Hickman of Y7 is the artist behind one of the two official Eastbourne Sunshine Carnival Posters for 2013. With almost 400 entries, competition was strong, and there were some very impressive works submitted, but it was George’s clever use of detail and warm, eye catching colours that won him the honour of being chosen to advertise this years event.

My name is Kiera Charley. My mum was diagnosed with Cancer and she has lost her hair as a result of the treatment she is receiving. The MacMillan nurses have really helped my mum through a very difficult time for all of us. My mum is not the only one this has affected and the nurses are so kind and have to reach out to so many people in similar situations. I want to do something for them and others that are going through the same things as my family. I have booked an appointment in the 27th April and I am going to shave my head to raise money for MacMillan. The school are supporting me to do this and I would like to give you the opportunity to support me too. Please feel free to donate any amount to this very worthy cause www.justgiving.co.uk/Kiera-Charley Thank you all in advance for your support.
Term 5 begins on Monday 15 April and pupils may wear the summer uniform of polo shirts with the school logo under their blazers or jumpers with the school logo from that date. We will inform you when students are allowed to wear polo shirts without their blazers or jumpers when the weather is warm enough. Please remember that plain blue v-necked jumpers may only be worn under blazers.
I would also remind you that blazers will be compulsory for all students from the start of the next academic year (September 2013). You will be aware that this decision was made by our Governing Body some time ago and is non-negotiable. If you are buying any new uniform please ensure that it adheres to the school expectations as set out in your child’s planner and on the school website.
